Little Learners Place OSHC has been providing quality Outside School Hours Care to families and children in Perth, Western Australia, for over four years. Needed more than just a CCS platform
Having previously used several different CCMS platforms mainly to manage CCS, Little Learners Place OSHC was looking for a platform that better met their needs. Specifically, they needed better access to financial documents and more accurate reporting.
Additionally, educators were using paper-based methods for their programming & planning and observations. The previous CCMS platforms they’d used didn’t meet their needs in this area, but they knew there must be a better way.
Enter the Xplor Education ecosystem.
A true all-in-one platform
Little Learners Place OSHC decided to adopt the full Xplor Education suite of tools, including:
- Office—for admins
- Playground—for educators
- Home—for families
- Xplor Pay—for payments
Designed and built to work together, that’s precisely what these platforms do. Digital sign-ins/outs update automatically in Office. Families can make casual or recurring bookings from the convenience of their devices using Home, where they can also view their statements. They can also set up Direct Debit with Xplor Pay, Xplor Education’s payment gateway, or make ad hoc payments with the PayNow functionality.
Playground has been another standout, with educators relying on it daily. “The new upgrade to Posts has been awesome,” said Karen Allan, OSHC Manager/Ed Leader. “ A lot of them [educators] all use Posts on a daily basis. They use the tables pretty much on a daily basis because it’s part of their curriculum planning as well.”
[Xplor Pay] runs quite easy because that’s just in the background. I have a lot of parents that like to use PayNow where they make their own payments.

I particularly like also now the fact that parents can do their casual bookings on the app, and then they can advise us of their child’s absence through instant absences, all of that stuff.

By adopting the Xplor Education suite, Little Learners Place OSHC has streamlined operations with a platform where everything is under one umbrella. With the cloud-based platform, Karen can operate and support the service and her team no matter where she is. When needed, Xplor’s chat support enables her to continue working on other tasks while not tying up her phone.
Playground has not only helped educators with their duties, but the Tables have helped organise documents and evidence for assessments and ratings. “ I run my QIP on Xplor… it just means that for me, I have everything in one spot in… Even down to listing what evidence we might have in terms of assessment and rating,” said Karen.
Both families and admin staff love the casual bookings feature in the top-rated family app, Home, as well as the seamless payments process that runs in the background when families have Direct Debit set up via Xplor Pay.
